This Antigonish community had major problems with existing On-Site sanitary sewer disposal due to small lot sizes, dense ribbon development, and poor soil hydraulics.  C.J. MacLellan & Associates Inc. with specialist sub-consultants ABL Environmental, completed the homeowner survey and topographic surveying in the fall of 2000. A final report was produced in January 2001 evaluating and costing alternative collection and treatment technologies for the community . The project was approved for the Infrastruction Program assistance and is projected to be constructed in 2002.
 

As is shown in the above exhibit the majority of residence had septic system problems.
