ANTIGONISH WATER TREATMENT PLANT DESIGN

This design-build project was for a 1.8 mgd water treatment facility to supply the Town of Antigonish and fringe area with potable water for future growth conditions

C.J. MacLellan & Associates were prime consultants on the design of structural, mechanical, electrical, civil components of the facility.  The building was designed and built with a concrete foundation incorporating tilt up wall panels and hollow core concrete roof top panels.  The facility treatment utilizes the DAF filtration technology and subsequent filtration with chlorine contact chamber and storage of filtered water. Backwash and filtration to wastewater is diverted for two 3000m3 on site lagoons.

C.J. MacLellan and Associates worked with ACL Construction and ABL Environmental Consultants Ltd.  The project was completed in the summer of 2006 at a value of $7.1 million.
